More TED

So what does it all mean?

I hope I will have time later to write- longer lives, poverty, open source housing- global warming- something...

TED Report

Technology Entertainment Design.
Those three catigories hold nearly everything. I had no idea that this conference would lead me to the best information on exposing and actually solving world problems.

At first it seemed to be about cutting edge technology, the future of technology etc. but to boil it all down and hearing the most recent (Jan 4th) talk about prioritising world problems the conclusion is this: the AIDS epidemic is the most important crisis that can be helped for the least ammount of money for the greatest benifit and slums are the habitat of most of humanity. There were speakers who were out there in communities doing something about the condition of the world. More over things are getting better not worse. Majora Carter is creating green spaces in the Bronx to encourage excersize and discourage the unfair placement of polution creating things in poor communities...

I support Dan Dennett's proposal to require the teaching of world religions along with their acedemic studies for all children...

I support Cameron Sinclair's efforts to connect architects with the need of communities for housing solutions and for mobile health clinics.

I still feel justified in the cause of advancing dental health in the world- if you can't chew you can't eat eh? Perhaps the Forsyth institute will someday speak at TED? Maybe not.

TED it is a great resource to inspire and connect. What an amazing time we live in- Onward!
